I’m grateful for nature!
- I love to take a walk daily, breathing deeply, looking at the trees, it lifts my spirits! Psalm 96:12 – Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
- I love to walk on the beach, especially in the winter – there’s something about the ocean that calls my heart to worship – reminding me of Psalm 148:7 – Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths
- I love to see outside even now by the fire pit – to study the stars, to imagine the grandeur of God reminding me of Psalm 19 – The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
- While we haven’t explored mountains much, I think I would love that also – reminding me of Psalm 121:1 – I lift up my eyes to the mountains where does my help come from?
This is my Father’s world,
And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas—
His hand the wonders wrought. This is my Father’s world:
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world:
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me everywhere. This is my Father’s world:

Oh, let me never forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world,
The battle is not done:
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and Heaven be one.
Just one more thought …
A blogger whose work I can’t find now, wrote, “Amidst all of this, I began to wonder: what if the mountains could see? What would they say about us? We are so taken by creation, and we describe the mountains and the ocean, even animals, with words such as “amazing,” “breathtaking,” or “incredible”; but we, we are God’s most prized creation. He takes delight in us.”
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
