Join me in a thanksgiving response to God today:
Creation sings of your grandeur, might, and creativity!
Thank you, Lord, for the beauty of the earth.
Our harvest is plentiful, the pantry stocked, and the table is overflowing with good foods to eat.
Thank you, Lord, for the abundance of daily bread.
Laughter fills our home, where friends and family regale us with stories.
Thank you, Lord, for friends and family, both far and near.
Our work is hard but satisfying, and our hobbies enriching.
Thank you, Lord, for the good works you prepared for us to do.
Adversity is real and challenging.
Thank you, Lord, for Your sustaining presence in all circumstances.
Our hearts long for truth and justice.
Thank you, Lord, for Your sovereignty, omniscience, and power.
We trust Your heart even when we cannot see Your hand at work.
Thank you, Lord, for your redeeming love.
To You be all praise and glory, Father, Son, and Spirit, now and forever! Amen.
Thanksgiving Poem
Scripture
What mighty praise, O God,
belongs to you in Zion.
We will fulfill our vows to you,
for you answer our prayers.
All of us must come to you.
Though we are overwhelmed by our sins,
you forgive them all.
What joy for those you choose to bring near,
those who live in your holy courts.
What festivities await us
inside your holy Temple.
You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,
O God our savior.
You are the hope of everyone on earth,
even those who sail on distant seas.
You formed the mountains by your power
and armed yourself with mighty strength.
You quieted the raging oceans
with their pounding waves
and silenced the shouting of the nations.
Those who live at the ends of the earth
stand in awe of your wonders.
From where the sun rises to where it sets,
you inspire shouts of joy.
Psalm 65:1-8 NLT
Prayer
May we, with open hands and grateful hearts,
receive the good gifts You have for us.
And may we be quick to share those gifts
generously with others.
Amen.
