The past few days have been busy … isn’t that always the case when you start a new project that requires a bit of quiet time? I don’t blame it on “the devil” … the same 24 hours are given to me each day. It’s my choice how I choose to use them.
I read this morning from The Root of the Righteous by A. W. Tozer … “One marked difference between the faith of our fathers as conceived by the fathers and the same faith as understood and lived by their children is that the fathers were concerned with the root of the matter, while their present-day descendants seem concerned only with the fruit.” Tozer reminds us of the Proverb that says, “The root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.”
Paul prayed for those to whom he wrote … that they would be rooted, established, built up!
Roots require time, nurturing, amended soil, plenty of water, fertilizer. Today I invite you to join me in making time for quiet reflection and prayer … meditation on scripture … allowing the Living Water to nourish and establish strong roots in our hearts!
