Today I am grateful for Tweety! He’s not the yellow cartoon bird … although the TV version makes me laugh. My Tweety is a cockatiel … our pet for the past 10+ years.
In the evening, when we are relaxing in front of the TV, Tweet loves to join us. He sits nearby, bows his head … asking to be petted. He also loves to chatter at us a bit … and sometimes gets up close for a kiss. I know that sounds a bit silly … but Tweet is affectionate!
It’s interesting that Tweet is also quite clear about wanting to be in his house … his cage … and after being out a while … he’ll seek his shelter.
He has a distinct personality … and boundaries!
I’m grateful for the animals we choose as pets. They bring a simplicity to our lives … the simplicity of joy and comfort.
